Frank Di Giorgio introduced an emergency item to create childcare spaces instead of a reuse centre, which was opposed by Shelley Carrol: "First of all, I'm very surprised that there's such a concern in the community about the amount of solid waste being processed in this industrial belt that they want to put children there," she said. "Clearly, we're just obfuscating. It's been the case all along. This is an area that needs childcare and we've got a viable group coming forward. Let's resolve this issue around the Ingram transfer station at (the works committee meetings). This can't turn into a monthly sport at council."
