The Fraser Institute has recently published a report card for Ontario schools. The top schools are located in Toronto. The Report Card on Ontario's Elementary Schools: 2007 Edition collects a variety of relevant, objective indicators of school performance into one, easily accessible public document so that anyone can analyze and compare the performance of individual schools. By doing so, the Report Card assists parents when they choose a school for their children and encourages and assists all those seeking to improve their schools.

Two days after Christmas day, police were called to 404 Driftwood Avenue after gunshots were fired leaving a man, believed to be in his 20s, dead at the scene at around 7pm.  At this point little information is available about the suspect and victim but the Toronto homicide squad is currently investigating the motives and details behind the incident.  This week’s weekly residential crime report is highlighted by this tragic scene.  Other crimes in the community include numerous armed robberies and more notably, a sexual assault in Firgrove Park just south of Jane and Finch.  On December 28, two young girls were playing in a park when they were approached by a man in his 50s.  He sexually assaulted them and lured them back to his home.  Luckily, it was long before the victims escaped safely.  The full crime report is generated below.

The next monthly meeting of the Community Police Liaison Committee will take place Monday, January 8, 2007 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the 31 Division at 40 Norfinch Dr. All those interested are invited
